My name is Jo, I am publishing this blog to the population at large because:

a) This is much more interesting than sending out a group email.

b) I figured that there might actually be people out there interested in what I am doing.

c) If I happen to go missing in some dodgy Eastern European country no one has ever heard of, or sold into the white slave trade for the large sum of thirteen camels... the embassy will know where to look for me.
